Larnaca: Police Investigate Assault Following Complaint – Parallel Investigation into Shooting

Police are investigating a complaint of assault filed by a victim who was allegedly beaten by a person arrested for the riots outside the Larnaca Police Directorate, where shots were also fired. The incident was revealed by OmegaLive with a related report and audiovisual material.

According to the Police, the investigation into the assault is being conducted in parallel with the case of the incidents at the Larnaca Police Directorate. It is also confirmed that the person involved in the assault has been arrested for the incidents in the center of Larnaca.

Regarding the riots in Larnaca, a 48-year-old Cypriot has been arrested, whose detention order has been renewed. The 48-year-old underwent surgery due to injuries. Five more suspects are under arrest, whose detention orders expire on Wednesday, when they will appear before the Larnaca District Court.

OmegaLive has learned that the detainees will be brought to court upon the expiration of their detention. The case for the assault is also expected to be filed in court next Wednesday.
