Larnaca: Explosion in 49-Year-Old's Vehicle – Wanted Man Arrested

A 74-year-old man was arrested today, Wednesday, July 30th, wanted by the Larnaca CID (TAE Larnacas) in connection with a case involving attempted property destruction with explosives and arson in Aradippou, committed on July 21st.

According to the Police, the 74-year-old was arrested today based on a court warrant and is expected to appear before the Larnaca District Court tomorrow for the issuance of a detention order.

Additionally, the Larnaca District Court renewed the detention order against two other individuals, aged 64 and 50, for another five days in connection with the same case.

According to the facts of the case, an explosion occurred in a car owned by a 74-year-old man, which is used exclusively by a 49-year-old woman, shortly after midnight on July 21st. The car was parked in a parking lot of an apartment building in Larnaca.

The explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device. The case is being investigated by the Larnaca CID.
