Larnaca: Raid on Construction Site, 8 Arrests for Illegal Work
A coordinated operation to combat illegal and undeclared employment took place at a construction site in Larnaca. Eight foreigners working illegally were arrested.
The operation involved units from YA&M from Nicosia, Limassol, Famagusta, and Paphos, as well as officials from the Inspection Service of the Ministry of Labor and Social Insurance.
During the inspection of a multi-story building under construction, 33 people were identified, of whom 8 were arrested. The detainees were employed by four different employers. Fines of ā¬52,000 were imposed for violations related to undeclared work and non-compliance with the Provident Fund legislation.
The Police continues inspections to combat illegal employment.
