Larnaca: Attempted Murder of a 31-Year-Old – Suspect in Custody

The 30-year-old suspect in the attempted murder of a 31-year-old in Larnaca last Friday has been placed in eight-day custody by the Larnaca District Court.

The 30-year-old, who was wanted by the police, was located yesterday in the occupied Morphou area and handed over to the Larnaca TAE through the Bi-communal Contact Group.

The motives for the attempted murder are attributed to personal differences. The suspect and victim met through a dating website five months ago and were allegedly in a relationship. According to the police, the two quarreled, with the 30-year-old allegedly stabbing the 31-year-old in the abdomen in an apartment building staircase.

During the investigation, police found a quantity of crystal substance, with a total gross weight of 6.5 grams, a grinder with traces of cannabis, syringes, and the amount of €300 in an apartment rented through Airbnb.

The 30-year-old's vehicle was found abandoned in a village in Vrysoules.
