2025 was marked by serious crimes in Cyprus, including seven murders and several attempted murders.

Stavros Demosthenous Murder: On October 17, businessman and football executive Stavros Demosthenous was murdered in his Rolls-Royce. Six people were indicted.

Family Tragedies: Two family tragedies shocked the public, with children witnessing their mothers being murdered. In one incident, a 53-year-old man killed his 34-year-old partner and attempted to kill her 14-year-old son. In another incident, a 58-year-old Iranian woman was murdered by her 62-year-old ex-husband in front of her daughter.

Patricide in Limassol: On July 9, a 48-year-old man fatally stabbed his father.

Murder in Paphos: On November 19, 26-year-old Alexandros Antoniou was murdered by the father of his ex-girlfriend.

Tragedy in Limassol: A family of five tragically died in a house fire on February 15. 35-year-old Bassem Adeeb Gamil Takla and 33-year-old Maria Georgiou, along with their three children, lost their lives.
