Cyprus: 5 Arrests and 234 Traffic Violations

Cyprus police conducted targeted operations resulting in the arrest of five individuals and the reporting of 234 drivers for various traffic violations.
The arrests concerned offenses such as driving without a driver's license, driving under the influence of drugs, and driving under the influence of alcohol (4 cases). During the checks, 968 drivers and passengers were stopped and inspected.
In addition, 56 establishment checks were carried out, resulting in five complaints. Of the 234 traffic complaints, 133 concerned speeding, 34 driving under the influence of alcohol, and three driving under the influence of drugs. 21 vehicles were seized.
Police operations continue with the aim of preventing and suppressing crime and increasing the sense of security of citizens.
