Police Threat Complaint Filed with Eirini Charalambidou

AKEL MP and Chair of the Human Rights Committee, Eirini Charalambidou, received a complaint from a citizen regarding threatening behavior by a police officer.

According to the complaint, the police officer allegedly attempted to restrict the complainant's freedom of expression in a "completely unethical and illegitimate manner." Charalambidou states that "journalists, politicians, and now citizens who criticize are being targeted by coordinated accounts."

Due to the seriousness of the complaint and the position of the police officer, Eirini Charalambidou will bring the case before the Human Rights Committee.
