Heraklion: 16 Fraud Cases Solved ā 23-Year-Old Arrested

Police in Heraklion, Crete, have solved 16 fraud cases, leading to the arrest of a 23-year-old local man. The frauds include seven completed cases and nine attempted ones.
The perpetrators, posing as employees of an electricity company or accountants, would call residents of the Municipalities of Hersonissos and Mylopotamos. Using false information, they persuaded the victims to leave money and jewelry at predetermined locations.
From their actions, the perpetrators obtained ā¬2,170 and jewelry worth approximately ā¬12,000. The 23-year-old was arrested at the port of Heraklion, and jewelry, ā¬350, and a mobile phone were found in his possession.
The stolen items were returned to their owner. The preliminary investigation is continuing by the Heraklion Crimes Prosecution and Investigation Sub-Directorate.
