Insavior: App for Protecting Women from Violence

A new application called Insavior aims to protect women from violence by offering three levels of protection at the touch of a button.
The app, created by Dimitra Andreou, allows women to immediately notify their loved ones and the app's community in case of danger. The idea came about after the femicide of Sarah Everard in London in 2021.
Insavior, which officially launched with the slogan #ItStartsWithUs, requires strict identification for registration and is aimed at women over 18 years old. It offers three levels of alert: High Alert, Escort Button, and Private Alert.
The app is not connected to the Police due to a lack of interest on their part, according to Ms. Andreou. However, it offers self-defense videos, informational material, and psychosocial support.
Dimitra Andreou also contributed to publicizing recent complaints about attempted rapes in Limassol, after receiving reports from women.
