Doctors Prescribed Diabetes Drug Without Patients' Knowledge

Two resident doctors at a public hospital in Attica have been identified for illegally prescribing a diabetes drug. According to the police, the doctors stole access codes and prescribed the drug without the patients' knowledge, with the aim of reselling it.
The Papagou - Cholargos Crime Prosecution and Investigation Department of the Attica Crime Prosecution and Investigation Directorate solved the case. The doctors face charges of falsifying prescriptions, illegal access to an information system, and violation of the law on personal data.
The accused allegedly exploited their access to the hospital's electronic system in December 2024, stealing codes from doctors in another clinic. They then filled the prescriptions at pharmacies in Attica.
