Six Arrests and 130 Complaints in Cyprus Police Operations

Targeted preventative police operations continued last night, with an increased presence in key urban areas, aimed at preventing serious criminal acts, protecting citizens, and ensuring public order.
As part of these operations, the police proceeded to arrest six people. Two people were arrested for the offenses of affray, assaulting a police officer, drunkenness, causing disturbance, and public insult. These are two men aged 24 and 28, who were found around 1:30 after midnight today by police officers patrolling in Nicosia, participating in a brawl.
Also in Nicosia, a 38-year-old man was arrested last night, who was found by a police officer in a state of intoxication, shouting and causing disturbance. The 38-year-old is being investigated for offenses related to assaulting a police officer, drunkenness, disturbance, and public insult.
Two people were also arrested for the offense of illegal stay on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, while one person was arrested for illegal possession of narcotics.
During the same night, 35 premises checks were carried out. From the traffic controls carried out, more than 130 complaints were filed regarding various traffic violations, while eleven people were found driving under the influence of alcohol. As part of the investigation of traffic offenses, ten cars were detained.
