Investigation into Alleged Inappropriate Behavior at 112 Emergency Line

An administrative investigation has been ordered following a citizen's complaint regarding inappropriate behavior by a member of the 112 Emergency Service, during a call reporting a fire in the Paphos district.

According to a police statement, the investigation was launched after a post on social media, where the citizen complained about the response they received when calling to report the fire. The complaint states that the response received was «Εν τζαι εν εγώ που θα την σβήσω..» (It's not me who will extinguish it..).

The Deputy Chief of Police, Mr. Panikos Stavrou, has issued instructions to locate the police officer who responded to the call and to investigate the incident.

In his post, the citizen described his experience when calling 112 to report a fire near the Paphos forest, and his disappointment at the apathy he encountered. He also mentioned that no details were requested about the incident.

The incident took place on August 15, 2025, and the citizen expressed hope that the authorities would investigate the case.
