File Against 37-Year-Old for Illegal Online Gambling

A file has been opened against a 37-year-old local woman for the illegal operation and promotion of online gambling. The Cybercrime Prosecution Directorate took this action following a complaint.

The investigation revealed that the 37-year-old was illegally advertising and promoting gambling organized by a foreign company through websites, without the necessary license from the Hellenic Gaming Commission (EEEP).

As a profile manager on a social networking site, the 37-year-old posted advertising posts in the form of 'stories' to promote the gambling site. The website was already on the list of Unauthorized Gambling Providers ('Blacklist').

The file will be forwarded to the competent prosecutor's office.
