Citizenship Trial for Demetriades and Others Postponed to December 2025

The trial regarding the citizenship case, with former Minister of Transport, Marios Demetriades, and other individuals as defendants, has been postponed to December 19, 2025.

The start of the proceedings was scheduled for today before the Permanent Criminal Court of Nicosia, but it was postponed to December 19, at 09:00.

A total of ten individuals, eight natural persons and two legal entities, face various charges, including influence peddling, bribery, acceptance of bribes, conspiracy to defraud, money laundering, and violation of the Council of Europe Convention on Criminalizing Corruption.

Specifically, in addition to Mr. Demetriades, Andreas Demetriades, Dimitris Demetriades, Giorgos Demetriades, Eleni Simillidi, Jing Wang, Josef Friedrich Santin, Vasiliki Georgiou-Santin, Andreas Demetriades & Co LLC, and Delsk (Cyprus) Business Services Ltd are also accused.

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt by the court.
