Real Estate Agent Trial: Investigator Testifies on Eva Künzel's Statement

The second 'trial within a trial' continued before the Nicosia Permanent Criminal Court regarding the statement of German real estate agent, Eva Isabella Künzel, who is accused of usurping Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied territories.

The case investigator, Dimitra Stavrou, testified regarding the circumstances of taking the defendant's statement on July 11, 2024. Ms. Stavrou stated that Künzel was informed of her rights and was not pressured.

The prosecuting authority is trying to prove that the statement was voluntary and not the product of an illegal search. The defense challenges the origin of the questions to Künzel.

The trial will continue on November 9.
