Accident in Famagusta: Investigation into Workplace Accident in Paralimni

A serious workplace accident occurred in the Famagusta district, specifically at a building under construction in Paralimni. Two Greek Cypriot workers, aged 64 and 56, were injured when scaffolding collapsed.

The workers fell from a height of approximately two meters. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident, with the Police collaborating with the Labour Inspection Service. Statements are being taken from witnesses, including the construction site manager.

The 64-year-old is hospitalized at Nicosia General Hospital, in the Neurosurgery Department, while the 56-year-old is in the Intensive Care Unit of Famagusta General Hospital. Both suffered head injuries and multiple fractures.

The causes of the accident are being investigated by the Paralimni Police Station.
