Terrorism Response Exercise in Nicosia Ahead of EU Presidency

The Cyprus Police will conduct a terrorism response exercise at the Conference Center in Nicosia on Friday, December 19, 2025, between 10:00 and 13:00.

The exercise, which is being held in anticipation of the Republic of Cyprus taking over the Presidency of the Council of the EU in the first half of 2026, will involve forces from various services, including the Cyprus Police, the Ambulance Service, the Fire Service, and the Secretariat of the Cypriot Presidency.

The aim of the exercise is to assess the readiness and coordination of the responsible services in security matters. During the exercise, there will be a mobilization of police forces and shots will be fired with blank cartridges. The Police assures the public that there is no cause for concern.
