Aradippou: Explosion at Metal Recycling Site, Injuries Reported

An explosion at a metal recycling site in Aradippou has injured three people. Initial indications suggest that the explosion was caused by a military projectile.

According to Larnaca Police Director Ioannis Sotiriadis, the scene has been cordoned off and is being investigated by explosives experts from the Police and the National Guard. The Labour Inspection Department and the Fire Department are also at the scene.

The three injured individuals were taken to Larnaca General Hospital. Their health condition is serious, with one being in a more critical condition and expected to undergo surgery.

The incident occurred when a 52-year-old man went to the site to deliver scrap metal. During unloading, the explosion occurred, injuring himself, a foreign employee, and another citizen.
