Online Scam Investigation: Fake Traffic Tickets

Police are investigating a new case of online scam involving misleading messages about traffic tickets.

A 56-year-old resident of Paphos reported that the amount of two thousand euros was withdrawn from his bank account after entering his personal information in a link he received on his mobile phone for the payment of traffic violations.

The police urge the public not to open such links, stressing that they never ask for personal information for the payment of tickets in this way.
