Police are investigating three cases of online fraud and money extortion in the districts of Paphos and Famagusta.

The complainants received a message on their mobile phone, with the sender posing as a well-known petroleum company. The message referred to reward points that would be deleted within three days if no action was taken.

Following the link, the complainants entered bank account details, resulting in the perpetrators extracting a total of €37,000.

Police urge the public to be careful and not enter personal or banking details on suspicious links.

Investigations are continuing by the local TAE.
