Scam: Imposters Posing as DEDDIE Employees Deceive Citizens

Individuals posing as DEDDIE (Hellenic Electricity Distribution Network Operator) employees are scamming citizens, extorting money and valuables. A 45-year-old mother described to in.gr how she fell victim to a phone scam.
The scammers, knowing her name and address, contacted her by phone, claiming there was a leak in her house and a risk of fire. They instructed her to turn on stove burners and collect money and valuables, while they were outside her house.
DEDDIE informs that it never asks for money or valuables by phone and urges citizens to contact the company's call center at 800 400 4000 if in doubt.
