Anavyssos: 40-Year-Old Kidnapped and Beaten Over Debt

A 40-year-old man was kidnapped and beaten in Anavyssos over a €16,000 debt. According to police, the incident occurred when the 40-year-old met with a 20-year-old Romanian man to whom he allegedly owed the amount.

The 20-year-old Romanian, along with a 47-year-old compatriot and a 21-year-old Greek man, kidnapped the 40-year-old and took him to his apartment in Kamatero, where they held him locked up. The victim managed to notify his father, who informed the police.

Police located the 40-year-old and arrested the 20-year-old Romanian. A metal bat, a metal club, and personal belongings of the victim were found in his apartment. The 20-year-old has been previously charged with attempted murder and other offenses.
