European Commissioner to Visit Cyprus Over Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The European Commissioner for Animal Health, Oliver Varhelyi, is scheduled to arrive in Cyprus on Friday to discuss the management of foot-and-mouth disease.
According to an announcement by the Government Spokesperson after the Cabinet meeting, a new meeting between the President of the Republic and affected parties will also take place on Friday.
Konstantinos Letymbiotis stated that all measures are being taken to address the situation, aiming to support the primary sector and those affected, in coordination with European partners.
Furthermore, a meeting between President Christodoulides and tourism industry representatives will be held at 16:00 to assess the situation and determine the next steps.
