48-year-old Victim of Online Scam in Limassol

A 48-year-old woman has fallen victim to an online scam in Limassol, losing over 65,000 euros.

As she reported to the Limassol CID, between June 7 and 27, 2025, she made investments through a website she found online.

When she tried to liquidate her profits, she realized she had been scammed, as she was asked to pay additional money in order to make a withdrawal.

The Financial Crime Investigation Office of the Limassol CID is investigating the case.

Police remind the public of the need for caution regarding online investment proposals and urge the public to verify the credibility of platforms before any transaction.
