Investigations are underway to find him
A 59-year-old US and French national is missing in Amorgos. The person who has been missing for a few days is on vacation on the island, when he started at 7.05 on Tuesday morning hiking from Aegiali following a marked path with a final destination of Katapola, with an indicative travel time, according to a sign, of 4 hours and 5 minutes.
Hours passed without the man showing any signs of life, as a result of which the friend who was hosting him in the Cyclades became worried and rushed to the nearest police station to report his disappearance, reported the ERT.
Police officers of the A.S. Amorgos, in collaboration with the Fire Department and Volunteer Rescuers, immediately started investigations, without any result so far.
From A.T. Naxos has sent a request to mobile phone companies to locate the two mobile phones the 59-year-old was in possession of, with the authorities hoping that since the devices have not been switched off or damaged, they will point to the man’s location.
