The unfortunate animal survived the shot, but was eventually found two days later dead, poisoned by fola
With a prison sentence of 2 years and a fine of 5,000 euros, the Three-member Misdemeanor Court of Thessaloniki sentenced a 55-year-old man, because he shot and injured a stray dog with an air gun.
The unfortunate animal survived the shot, but was eventually found two days later dead, poisoned by folas. The case unfolded in October 2019 in a rural area west of Thessaloniki, while the 55-year-old became a defendant after an anonymous complaint based on the testimony of a child, who was playing in the neighborhood and allegedly saw the dog coming out injured from the defendant’s house.
The 55-year-old did not appear in court and was represented by a proxy lawyer, through which he denied the act attributed to him. His sentence was suspended for 3 years.
